We're Moving!

In T-minus 5 days, or slightly less than that if you're going by hours.....

So we're moving to our own house. Our first house together that we will own. No more renting for us! No more lame and overly rigid landlords. Ha ha suckers! You don't get our money anymore! It goes to other people now..... dang, oh well, we get a house!

Today we have sorted a lot of things that were in storage and we are beginning to pack some items from our little living room. We are so close to having moving down to a science it's ridiculous. In saying that, we have our evenings for this week planned as to what rooms and items are to be packed. When's the big move, you ask? Thursday. And it's coming up quick.

I'm super pumped to put things away in their new spots at the house. I know a lot of people who say that that is their favourite part of moving, the unpacking. I've gotten so far ahead of myself (and Q) and sketched out the "blueprint" of the house (poorly, very poorly sketched out) and drew in where furniture would go and what each room would be designated for. And I've started brainstorming colour schemes and themes for each room, how to repurpose some of the furniture we have, and what food we should have for our house warming party the following weekend. I know, I know, that's a bit much considering we haven't even moved in yet. I'm really excited to finally have a house of my (our) own to decorate and host parties in. Or I'm just sliiiiiiightly nuts.

It's the former, trust me.

This is our house: main level on the left, basement on the right. Don't judge me by my crappy drawing skills.

Coming up next on Breathe:

- Our Wedding post: Finally! We have all the photos. It's what you've been waiting all year for.
- Brainstorms For The House post: colours and themes, repurpose projects, craft and art projects, etc.
- Puppy post: Did I forget to mention that we're getting a dog too? He's beautiful and adorable, plus he's the size of a horse.....kinda. I'm ultra excited for this, I've never had a dog before! I've had fish, and I have cats, and I guess I'm a step-pet-parent to Q's dog Loki, but now I will have my own dog. His name is King. You'll see why.

Loki is super adorable too, as you can see. Photo from my post "One Love, Two Love....."

Thanks for stopping by! Come back soon for these exciting upcoming posts!

Huge Group Of Girls

Bahaha! So funny. I would be "Bradley, the sleepy one!"

Fun Filled Friday the Fifteenth

Yesterday was a day focused on friends, two friends in particular: Jooree and MikMik.

My Friday started very early in the morning. Woke up and drove to Ponoka with MikMik and her momma for a horse show. I believe it's called the Alberta Classic Horse Show. I don't know, I assume that's the name because that's what the prize ribbons say. Anyways.....I'm very lucky to have two very close friends that are equestrian riders. Different styles, very different styles, but I finally got the opportunity to see MikMik ride. Friday was day one of the three day weekend show. She rode once and got first in her class. First! It was amazing! It was really interesting for me to see the differences between MikMik's riding and Britt Britt's riding. Very cool indeed.

Here's a little peek-a-boo into the Ponoka show:

I absolutely love her suit. Beautiful!
On our way to the arena.
First place goes to Tamale Wally. Great job Wally and MikMik!

Then into Friday evening, we had a little soiree for Jooree. She is going to Slovenia for 6 months to film a documentary and visit with her family. We went to Jekyll & Hyde pub and what a great turnout! Lots and lots and lots of friends came out to say "See ya soon" to Jooree. We gifted her with an iPod Touch filled with music from everyone. That's like 3000 songs! She's got lots to listen to. I put some songs on there that are amazing and that I love and I hope that Jooree comes to love them too.

Jooree, it was a wonderful night, I'm gonna miss you but time will fly and we will be welcoming you off the plane soon enough. Your research is going to bring a lot of issues and events to light. Your film is going to be great and will spread a message to many minds. You're a beautiful person with a real talent and a gift, a big heart and the best sparkle wardrobe.   :)    We love you Jooree!

Early in the evening and lots of good people.

These beautiful bests pull a serious face.

My love and Jooree, best friends for life

Thanks for the great tunes Headwind! Especially for playing the song for Jooree.

I hope you all have a great weekend with your friends, I know I will. Double date with Sean and Britt Britt. Dinner and a movie. It's going to be a goooooood night.

Have a great weekend filled with smiles everyone!

China

As in new and beautiful dinnerware. We have plates and such now! We tossed ours when we moved back from Bridgetown because a couple of kitties had broken a few items and there wasn't any sense bringing old broken stuff back. This was an early and unplanned purchase. And a steal of a deal ($30!). On our way to go to Zellers and then bowling (I'm an embarrassment to bowling, FYI), Jenny Babe's eagle eyes spotted a yard sale. Naturally we stopped to a have a peek. Due to the keen vision of a beautiful lady, Q and I now have something fancy. I'm not sure how old this china is, the gentleman who was holding the yard sale said that these belonged to his mother. I love the cool turquoise colour and the gold flourish. Beautiful!

Everything seems to be in great shape; although most of the sorbet bowls no longer have the gold flourish design and the tea cups and creamer have some wear-and-tear marks and cracks. I like the chips on the plate edges, lots of character.      :)

What kind of dinners did you present to that family, Plates? They all seemed to really enjoy dessert, evidenced by your sorbet bowl companions. I can't wait to clean you up all nice and shiny, give you a nice cupboard to sleep in and call home, and then bring you out to play when everyone comes over for good times and yummy eats. Oh yes, we will have many delicious meals together.

$30 for this whole gorgeous set! Unbelievable!

The sugar bowl, tea cups and saucers are my favourites. Although the coffee pot is pretty stunning......

Sorry for mega back and forth between good and crappy lighting, the most accurate true colour captured is the first photo in this post. Meh, I'll get good, one day.....

Oh my gosh, totally broke the 5 or less photo rule. Curses! Oh well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. Well the next gigantor and megasaurus posts will be: wedding and new house. Promise.

A Magical Walk, Then Toast and Jam

Well friends, we're back from two weeks of holidays for our wedding. It was glorious. The best day in history (obviously). Once we receive our pro photos of our wedding, I'll do a massive wedding post here for your reading and visual pleasure. So for now I will share what our evening was like a few days ago. We went for a nice walk by the river before meeting up with some rad people for drinks and toast (I was the only one who had toast. In a pub. That's how I roll). It was a beautiful evening: warm and rainy with the perfect degree of cloud cover for snapping some shots of our fair surroundings. So in keeping up with my 5 photos or less.....

This is so neat!

We saved many a worm from UV peril.

As Promised.....

Here's a little teaser from our "engagement" photos that we did on Sunday.

Like what you see? You do!? Great! Check out our talented friend's two blogs, which are conveniently located to your right on the blogroll ---> Jaison & Jason Everitt.

Thanks a bunch Jason! We had such a fun time!

I'm Still Alive!

I know I have neglected to post anything for a while, it's due to being super busy with wedding related events and activities. Last weekend was the shower which was a total blast! I had so much fun and it meant so much to me that so many ladies showed up for some delicious food and drinks, quirky games and a peek into my life as child via embarrassing photos. It was also super sweet that Q decided to stay for the whole party. Plus he got to see all the wonderful gifts we received. Thank you so much to everyone who came out! And a massive thank you to Mother and family for putting the pretty and wonderful soiree together. I loved it!

The weekend before that was stag weekend. Q partied with his boys and I partied with the ladies. And what a blast we had then too. Filled with a delicious brunch, guns, dinner, drinks, and dancing. Another massive thank you to my bridesmaids for making me feel beautiful and special that day. Seestor, Mrs. Babe, and all the gals, thank you!

We certainly have photos and I would like to share them. I will once we have a few moments to go through them as they are all on Seestor's camera. She bought herself a fancy dancy new camera and it's wonderful that she now has the tool to further her talent.

This weekend Q and I are going to get some engagement photos done. I hope to have them prior to the wedding (which is in one week!) so I can share a nice photo of us, not one where I'm making a ridiculous face.

OH! A piece of good news for you: Q and I are now homeowners! Huzzah! It was very quick and rather unexpected. We were just looking to see what was out there so that we could begin saving for a house in the next few years. Boy oh boy has that been accelerated! We move in July! This July! WOW! What a whirlwind month added to this whirlwind year. It's definitely good to be us right now.

I just want to say this to you readers: I'm so glad that you're here, to listen (aka read) me babble on and on. I started this blog a while ago with no plan for it (as most bloggers do) and it's been a good way for me to get thoughts and ideas out of my head. I like to make notes and lists, however paper goes missing sometimes, so this is great. Thank you so much for stopping by every now and again, means a lot.   :)

This is my gorgeous Momma on her wedding day.
And that's her cute as hell first born, moi.

One week friends!!

More to come after that, soooo much more!

Champions

Bestest bff Britt Britt is a gal of many skills and talents. The one she's known for is equestrian. She was recently competing in a horse show this past weekend to show off her amazing new horse: Leragon. This is a wonderful horse, he eats strawberries and has a beautiful coat, mild mannered, tricksy and an instant star. With a placing of 4th in the first ride and 1st in the second and final ride, it's obvious that this lil guy (he's only 4 and this was his first official show ever!) and his lovely rider are going to take the province (and wherever else they go) by storm.

I'm so glad I was able to make it and watch you ride, it was such a treat to be there with your beau, your momma, and Mrs. Babe.

Good show Britt Britt, good show!

All The Rowboats

I love this woman. She's incredibly talented and I am really looking forward to her new album out on May 29, 2012: What We Saw From The Cheap Seats. And yes, I've pre-ordered it. This song is from that new album. It's wonderful and she looks delicious too. Ladies and Gents, without further ado: Regina Spektor.....

A Delightful Find on a Day Off From Work

Well friends, over here at Breathe we are officially on Wedding Countdown. This past Thursday was the one-month-to-wedding-day day and this week marks the beginning of all wedding related events and activities. So we be busy 'round these parts. Today though, I'm taking it easy for a little bit (hence the post). In my little break, I've come across a blog that I'm so happy to have found even though a part of me wishes I had seen it earlier in the game. Oh well! It's still amazing!

For all you DIYers out there, the blog "I-Do"-It-Yourself is great. It's filled with great ideas and templates, links, free fonts and designs, and other printable items. Here's a sweet bonus: pretty much everything they post is free! Free fonts! Free downloads! Free templates! FREE! That's pretty awesome I think.

Here's one of my favourites so far:

You can check out the post featuring this suite here.
There's also a good selection of different colours to suit your events palette.

There's also the most darling vintage looking print of birds that I fully intend on printing out and placing it in a wonderful frame for my future home (Q & I are beginning to house hunt.....eeeeeee!).

It's been a slice, but I must continue looking through my new discovery and work on my remaining wedding DIY projects, cleaning the house, etc.

Enjoy the sun!

Jasper, Pre-Wedding Style

This wall is inside a store filled with beautiful pieces of art and jewelry, etc.
Only after I took the photo did I notice the "NO PHOTOS" sign.
And I noticed it on my camera, not when I was in the store. Observant, very observant.

Our hotel was filled with these.
All sorts of animals, it was amazing.
Handsome devil and my strange self.

We saw a HUGE herd of Big Horn Sheep on the way out of the Park. IT WAS AMAZING! I usually don't have much luck in the realms of wildlife sightings, but this little trip had a different stroke of luck. Obviously, but we also saw some Caribou, Coyotes, Mule Deer, some other deer, and the Big Horns! I was so happy I almost cried. I love animals.

Wink Wink Nudge Nudge

Although Q and I don't have a wedding registry anywhere for anything, there are a few things I would like to own someday (soon). Here's a little peek (hint hint) into what our future kitchen would house: dreamware!

I adore the chameleon plate and the bee plate. The beast's feast bowl is beautiful.
I have always wanted a clawfoot tub. The bowl is the closest I will get for a long time.

I have been 200% smitten with the hobnail pitcher. The blue is delightful and bright with enchantment.
It's gorgeous in it's other hue: purple. I would happily shelve both of them in our cupboards. ;)

All items available at your local Anthropologie stores and online at anthropologie.com

My favourite store and zen shopping retreat. I would be hard-pressed to find someone who hasn't experienced the calm of this artistic environment. And right in the middle of an urban shopping centre! Favourites collide!

A Personal Challenge

I take pictures, a lot of pictures. I like to share those pictures and it can be a bit of an overload sometimes, for me and you. So my personal challenge is this: share the photos of particular event in 5 or less (some exceptions will apply; example - the wedding).

So let's start with a Sunday trip to the Royal Alberta Museum. We went to check out the moth exhibit, Winged Tapestries: Moths At Large. Unfortunately no photography was allowed in that exhibit, but you can check out the artist, Jim des Rivieres, and his work on his website www.moths.ca. Honestly, some of the most enchanting and detailed images I have ever seen. The exhibit is on until September 3, 2012. Lots of time for you to go for a few visits. Also, Q and I are holders of the prestigious Mammoth Pass. It's a pretty awesome thing to have, you should get one. Here's a little look at our venture:

I'm quite excited for my next drive over there, spend an afternoon taking in everything. There are more exhibits coming that I'm certainly going to see.

Happy Weekend!

A Look Into My Love's Birthday Bash

Isn't my Seestor talented?! Holy smokes! This is an amazing shot!

She's great. The subject of the photo is pretty great too.
