Best Birthday Gift Ever

That I can recall from recent years. Q decided to give me part of my birthday gift today due to extreme cold. An early gift and a useful and totally rad gift. Best gift ever.

It's thick and really furry and a nice shade of macintosh red. I heart it!

Thanks Q!

Paws & Stripes

New item. Got so excited to show you that I was impatient and didn't use the super lens, just the iPhone lens. Meh. You still get to see it.     :)

Lovely skirt found at Winners.

Lovely

This new dress makes me feel absolutely lovely. Stylish and pretty. Thank you rw&co.! Paired with some pearls and my blue suede heels (yes, I have blue suede shoes, jealous?), I feel good thru and thru. Perfect ensemble for an afternoon tea. Don't let these poor poses fool you.....

Hepburn, but not so classy and lacking in all grace. Lovely all the same.     :)

Today

Favourite red jacket, Forever21. Balloons & Couch brooch, etsy.

Earrings, elephants, gifted from Mrs. Babe.

Tuxedo top, joe fresh.
Scissors, Forever 21.

My favourite shoes. My brogues from Army & Navy.

I love these pieces and today's combo.

Food, Friends, and Sequins!

Yesterday was a good day. First, lunch with Britt Britt and then later on, drinks and food with Q and Mr. & Mrs. Babe. We began at the notoriously hip, Sugarbowl for some neat drinks. Well I had soda as always but the three of them had some beers that you probably couldn't get from any other bar.

After the funky brewskies, we made our way to The Next Act Pub for more drinks and some munchies. And boy oh boy were those munchies gooooood! I enjoyed a grilled cheese while the others feasted on a pulled pork sandwich, poutine, and nachos. Mmmm mm!

What a yummy day with good people and I did it all surrounded in sparkle.

Boots, Black Friday gift. Jacket, Forever21. Silk scarf, gifted. Leggings, dynamite. Sequin top, joe fresh. Wallet, gifted.

I need to learn to pose better without looking like a total idiot. Oh well, I felt good.

:)

Christmas Day!

Then it came! Christmas Day! And what a wonderful day it was. We got to see a pretty good handful of family in three stops. First "stop", stockings and gifts at home with Momma, Seestor, Q, and the kitties. Everyone received fun gifts, beautiful gifts, useful gifts, and surprise gifts. Such a nice morning and very glad to be home for Christmas. :)

Second stop, the aunt and uncle's house, the one with the amazing backsplash that I had mentioned before and never got a photo of, well friends, I got one!

Ok so it's not the best photo, but I really like this backsplash.
It's so pretty in person.

Necklace from India. From Me to Seestor. Pretty sweet lighting.
Guess how.....give up? It was the refrigerator!

New dress cape from Momma. How cool?! I got a cape! Thank you!
Christmas outfit! New cardigan from Seestor (Thank you! I love it!) and new
tights from Momma (Super comfy, thank you!). Black Friday boots and Wal-Mart Skirt.

Third stop, Christmas dinner at Q's family's house. It was a delicious meal and a fun evening. Nephew was there. And for the first time, I was referred to as Auntie. That felt so good I nearly cried. I'm an Auntie! Now I have to work on being super cool, or just cool. Nephew said I had goofy glasses and he was very encouraging when we played Super Mario. He said, "You're doing really good" when I really wasn't. He went back to the beginning of the game so I could play with him. He is clearly better at Super Mario on the Wii than I am. I'm good at that game but on Super Nintendo. Old school.

The English family's tree.

Q chose well. This gift was a huge hit.....with everyone. We all wore it or tried to wear it.

Mum as Ironman. IronMum. Q was thrilled, this was a moment to behold.

This moment melts my heart. I love you Q.

Cool Uncle Q.

The story of this shot is: Nephew got a pirate ship which Q and I
happily put together for him. Once it was whole, I had to take a test shot with
our new camera. Me future Mum and Dad got Q and I a fancy dancy camera.
Totally unexpected. Thank you!

All in all, a great Christmas, wonderful gifts, warm hugs and good food. Many laughs and smiles, and best of all, I gained on official title: Auntie.

Happy Holidays friends!

Brace Yourself.....

This is the beginning of slew of Christmas posts. I have unfortunately fallen behind (really behind!) on my posts lately and I could explain to you why but I'd rather not because here I am, here we are! So let's take a little trip to a few weeks ago and walk the path of my own Christmas season.

First up: the company Christmas party. It was held at a country club near Beaumont and the roads leading there are barely lit by the distant lights of Edmonton. Once we arrived and were making our way up the main driveway, we encountered a majestic looking deer. Huge antlers! He was beautiful and didn't stick around. I figured the car must have spooked him.....what a chicken.

I chose to be brave and not wear tights or nylons with my little black lace dress. I say brave because it was chilly. It wasn't the usual -30C thank goodness, just cold enough that I could handle the brisk atmosphere and my fake Uggs would do for the travel there and back. I was also brave with my choice of footwear for the night. I wore the most beautiful blush patent leather pumps I've ever owned: my Steve Madden Trinitie pumps. I'm pretty good on my feet (walking and nerd dancing only) in these shoes and good thing too, these bad boys are my wedding day shoes. Bonus for you! Christmas post AND wedding sneak peek!!

I had worn these before and ripped the leather on the toe.
Q's brainpower + my brainpower = easy fix that's barely noticeable.
AND I didn't even wreck them at the party!! *high five*

I would also like to show off the necklace I wore because it's a major statement piece and I am anxiously waiting for the next time it adorns my collar. And no, this is not a wedding piece. Perhaps I'll show that off later. Maybe. We'll see if you get a lump of coal this year.

As friends and co-workers went home and the night began to wind down, we decided that the party wasn't really over, WE were the party. The group simultaneously high fived each other (not really, but I wish that's what happened) at the plan to move from middle-of-nowhere country club to our new home (tour still to come). Mother and Seestor were out of town so the whole house was ours. Logical choice. Obvious choice. Who doesn't have a house party when their parents aren't home? I can say in truth that was my first one and it was like 5 people. Big step in my social standing. Remember, I'm dorky.

After a few large empty bottles of vodka and rum, and many arm wrestling matches, our wonderful guests made their way home safely. It was such a fun night and great way to kick off the season. Thank you so much everyone!

Friday's Pretty Outfit & Pretty Cool Outfit

I think it's become rather apparent that I too am jumping on the "blog about your outfits" bandwagon and I'm totally ok with that because I feel that I have some nice looking pieces and can put together some really good combinations. So here's what I wore to work on Friday:

Unfortunately it's not the greatest photo because the walls
in our offices are either swiss chocolate brown or puke yellow. Nice right?

Anyways, my dress is a warm camel colour by Joe, the flower belt is by Artisan (that I got from Home Hardware in Bridgetown!), cardigan from Suzy Shier, and cute birdie necklace from Bootlegger (a whopping $1.99!). Not pictured are black opaque tights from le Chateau, and black velvet flats from Army & Navy.

Sweet dress ensemble + my hair cooperating for once = good day and feelin' pretty.

By early early early Saturday morning, this was the showpiece of my regular casual jeans and sneakers look:

More on this bad boy later.

Kale, Clavicle Moons, and Sneak Peeks

A few weeks ago I had purchased some ornamental kale and it unfortunately didn't live as long as I had hoped. It was a short lived beauty but I think that I will get some more of it soon.

Although we are only a bit over a week into October, I already have a cold. Boourns to that! But no cold shall inhibit my delightful outfits and accessorizing on days off. Check it out!

I have a number of projects that I want to accomplish in the next little while. As I complete them (successfully or not :P) I will post it here for all to see. Some are holiday related and some are wedding related, some are crafty and some aren't, I just want to show off a piece of it (mostly the wedding ones). Take a few guesses. Know what they could be??? If you're right, I'll send you a virtual high five!

The test run on these bad boys is nearly complete. Stay tuned!

Not the best photo for a sneak peek, but once I finish,
there will be waaaaay better photos. Scouts honour.
